Many songs have been sung about the crucifixion of Jesus. However, “The Old Rugged Cross” remains an all-time favorite. George Bennard is the man behind the lovely hymn in 1912. Years later, the song is still relevant and has been covered by numerous artists including Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and Patsy Celine. It is a song that never grows old.
